Battle Enactments Fort Knox never was attacked; no battles took place in Vincennes. Yet, the area was a staging ground during 1811. Nearly 1000 soldiers preparing for an arduous march camped, trained, and lived here. That march would culminate at the battle of Tippecanoe. The battle demonstrations during the event are not a reenactment of the engagement at Tippecanoe, but rather a demonstration of the tactics of the era. The demonstration strives to show and provide education about both sides of the conflict. Be sure to talk with the combatants after the battle, they are a wealth of information and glad to talk with the public.
